Kurri Kurri Aquatic & Fitness Centre Swim School has been operating at Kurri Kurri Aquatic & Fitness Centre since 2002.
Swimming Australia and Belgravia Leisure have partnered to deliver students a new and effective learn to swim program that focuses aon contemporary experiential and activity-based learning techniques, as well as inspiring students to explore pathways into competitive and recreational lap swimming.
Our program curriculum incorporates progressive levels combining knowledge, skill and understanding for age appropriate development of water safety and swimming. Our program caters for infants with their parents, pre-schoolers, primary school aged children and adults. Our program also caters for disabled and special needs students. Lessons are conducted by fully trained, accredited, licensed and insured teachers of swimming and water safety.
The curriculum spans seven areas of learning, each containing educational elements that are combined and presented in specifically designed activated to enhance student development.
The knowledge, skill and understanding learning areas of the curriculum are:
- Entries and Exits
- Floating and Sculling
- Movement, Propulsion and Stroke development
- Personal Survival
- Underwater Skills
- Rescue and Emergency
- Water skills knowledge
